Terms of Purchase

Terms of Purchase Agreement

Price: A $200 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a pup. The balance due will be due at the time of pick up. Pups will be ready to pick up around seven weeks. Dawg Onalog Kennel will match the puppy to the owner based on the owner’s experience, intentions, and family life.

Registration: Dawg Onalog Kennel will register your puppy with North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association (NAVHDA).

Health: All vaccinations and de-worming up to the time of pick up will be the responsibility of Dawg Onalog Kennel. The puppy is guaranteed to be in good health at the time of pick up. If the new owner has the puppy checked by their veterinarian within 72 hours of pick up, and the puppy is determined to not be in good health from a non-accidental cause outside of the control of the purchaser, a full refund of the purchase price will be given with a signed letter from the veterinarian, and the puppy returned at the responsibility of the buyer. The dog is guaranteed to be free from hip dysplasia for 24 months.

Hips: If the hips are tested and found to be dysplastic up to 24 months, there will be two options for the buyer:
Option 1) The buyer keeps the dog and provides a signed letter from their veterinarian that the dog has been sterilized. The cost of sterilization will be the buyer’s responsibility. Dawg Onalog Kennel will then offer the buyer another puppy from the next available litter at one half of the going price of the new litter. The buyer is responsible for picking up replacement puppy.
Option 2) The buyer returns the dog to Dawg Onalog Kennel at the buyer’s expense, and then the buyer will be offered a puppy from the next available litter at no cost. Buyer will be responsible to pick up the replacement puppy.

Before the buyer uses their dog for breeding, the buyer agrees to first have the dog’s hips and K Locus gene tested, at the buyer’s expense, and the results reported to Dawg Onalog Kennel.

If for any reason the buyer cannot keep the dog, Dawg Onalog will assume responsibility to find a new home for the dog, in consultation with the buyer.

Testing: In order to improve the Wirehaired Point Griffon breed, the buyer is strongly urged to have their dog tested in the NAVHDA natural ability test within the first sixteen months of age. Upon a successful passing of the test, which means to earn a prize 1, 2 or 3, a $50 refund from Dawg Onalog Kennel will be given to the buyer. Dawg Onalog will assist the buyer in locating a NAVHDA chapter for training and testing.

We thank you for your partnership with us in promoting the Wirehaired Pointing Griffon breed, and developing the best hunting pet possible.
